How to join the Promotion of Life team?

1. To become a Kiva loaner you just need to register on kiva’s website (it’s quick, you just need an e-mail address).

2. After registering, go to the Promotion of Life loaning team page on kiva http://www.kiva.org/team/lifepromotion and click

JOIN NOW.

3. Choose someone to lend to and make the loan (click lend $25) through PayPal or using a credit card.

Once you're a part of the team, your loans will count towards our team’s impact. The loan is yours and repayments come to you but the loan also shows up in our team's collective portfolio, expanding our overall impact!

What is?

A Slice of Art Walking Across the Globe it’s about art, people and places.

The project starts with a painting sliced in 103 pieces to be sent to people from all over, creating a worldwide network of holders in different locations.

The slices of HumanCowParade Canvas #1 (the painting) are being sent to friends as an invitation to flavour a slice of art and to get in touch with this idea: promotion of life through art.

Up to now, 50 slices of art have been sent. Still 50 slices available to share with people that might flavour a slice of art.

Slices are free?

YES! All slices are sent free of charge.

Only slices A, B and C will be auctioned on eBay. The full amount achieved will be 100% invested in promotion of life and empowerment of people to lift themselves out of poverty by supporting Kiva Microfunds, a non-profit organization fighting against global poverty with amazing success.

Promotion of life through art?

In January 2009 we left Portugal to travel and expand thoughts. Seeing a bit of Africa, Central America or Southeast Asia was radical. Getting in touch with scale poverty somehow changes your mindset. Without trying to play Gandhi and side by side with our professional activity, we started to brainstorm ideas/projects/strategies that could make a difference in people’s lives when linked with art.

We discovered that through Kiva, a non profit organization revolutionizing philanthropy by connecting people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty, you can make massive changes in people’s lives with simply 25$. Imagine… 17€! With art we’re joining people and places to the equation and the outcome is a story called A Slice of Art Walking Across the Globe.

We hope that in time this philanthropic attitude may grow among: some people will start to get curious, some will join our loaning team on Kiva, some will walk a banner on their website and others will bid on the slices.

In short terms this is our long term idea:

1 painting = 103 slices/holders

2 paintings = 103 + 179 slices/holders

…

X paintings = Y slices/holders = B life through art promoters

To add a Walking banner on blog/website:

Use copy on the code bellow the banner and paste in your webpage text editor.

To add a Walking banner to your e-mail footer:

Click the banner with the right button and save image. Open your Outlook account settings and insert image.

If you use gmail account you can only add text messages to your email footer. Copy a text email footer and paste in the account settings.
